Correct the molar relationship (Class II) or overbites.
What to Expect
You will notice an increase in saliva production. The brain thinks there is food in the mouth not knowing the difference. This will be back to normal in a couple of days
The molars will be tender and sore for the first couple of weeks.
The tongue will also be sore getting used to having the appliance in the roof of the mouth. Use wax to cover any area that may be rough to the tongue.
It will seem like it is hard to talk but by reading out loud this will go away.
Cleaning of the appliance is best accomplished with gentle tooth brushing and if you have one a waterpik.
