4 Bicuspid Extraction
Treatment Profile - Four Bicuspid Extraction
This patient came to see us when she was 14 years old. She had all of her permanent teeth and was very crowded in both her upper and lower arches. (Figure 1) Her biggest complaint was that "I hate my cuspids! They look like fangs!"

|
We placed braces only on the upper teeth while the patient was sent to get upper and lower bicuspid extracted.

Spaces are closing where the teeth have been extracted and we now have placed braces on all the teeth. The tubing on the lower arch is for comfort for the patient.

We are still closing spaces and opening her bite. And the upper arch has revers curve built into the wire. And chaining to close space.

Our patient has now been in braces for a year. The wire that you see on the lower called "piggyback", it is allowing us to chain and level bite. The orange elastic chain you see is to close spaces.

Utility artch has been removed, upper and lower arches are level and open. We continue to close all spaces with chain.
